Get Up Quick!

David, the God’s anointed to lead His people, committed sin by having relations to Batsheba, the wife of his soldier, and later killed the latter to follow the desire of his flesh. The gospel talked about how the seed grows and how it is to be with the kingdom of God.

Just like David, there comes a point that we all fall short in the eyes of God, even how prayerful we are, how good people see us, and how many times we say we are faithful to Him. We really cannot brag our love to God even how strongly we do and feel. We can only glorify Him for His love for us. Just like in Psalm, we can ask for God’s mercy as we blot our offenses to Him. We can also ask for His compassion to cleanse and purify us again.

As the gospel proclaims, let’s not our sins and offenses hinder us to grow spiritually. Let’s not allow our weaknesses to stop us from seeking and waiting for God. Let’s not our shortness make way for us to become not a blessing to others. Let’s not our unworthiness allow us to become not the person God wants us to be.

God loves you. He anointed you to lead His people. He never says you are holy. He never says you will never commit sin when you follow Him. He says (and will always say) go to Him when you fail because He will pick you up so you can stand again.

Here’s a short prayer…

Here I am once again bowing before you. I have fallen short of your glory. You know I’ve tried not to but I still did. The power of the world is so strong that often weakens me. Forgive me Father, for I am not mighty enough to defend myself from the evil attacks. I feel ashamed of myself and I cannot look up to you. Heal me now and cleanse me once again. Let your blood purify me so I can go back to how you once made me. Let your loving embrace comfort me so I can gain enough courage to become the person you want me to be. These I ask in the Mighty Name of Jesus. AMEN.
